A couple of weekends ago I had the awesome opportunity to take a workshop from an artist who was in Shreveport for his show opening. I didn’t really know what to expect from a guy named Sean Starwars, but it was incredibly fun and he was really down-to-earth and super helpful. He really has a passion for what he does and it came through in how he taught and really shared his experience with those in the workshop.
If you are able, you should visit the Meadows museum at Centenary while he show is still up. There are an impressive quantity of wood cut prints on display, along with some of the plywood carvings used to create them. Check out his website here to see more of his work. I couldn’t resist purchasing one of his amazing prints for the Richard men-folk. Hank (the 6-year-old) has declared that it will hang in his room.
